This was an interesting book. It is book 3, but it seems you don’t need to read the other books to know what it is about. I couldn’t find book 1 and 2, so I am happy to see I don’t need to read the other books.
At the beginning it is clearly mentioned who is who, and there is also enough information in the beginning chapters.
What I didn’t like:
The fact that after each puzzle was the standard line of: Code Busters’s Solution on Page (insert number). I felt it would be better if it was mentioned once in the beginning. Like for all solutions to the puzzles mentioned in this book, see page (insert number) or see chapter (insert chapter).
The trip they had was really fun to read about. I really liked how they figured out the map and all the puzzles. And I really liked all the pirate facts and stories. It was really interesting to read about them, even though I knew most already.
The mystery itself was good, I liked it. We got criminals, a real treasure and mystery.
In overall this book was really fun to read, and a real recommendation to kids who like codes, puzzles and pirates!
