Review for The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories

The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy & Other Stories People here might not know it, but I love Tim Burton. His movies are absolutely fantastic and thus I really wanted this book, but I couldn’t find it anywhere. Until I went to Amsterdam and found it in great condition in a second-hand bookshop.

I started reading immediately, only to be stopped by my boyfriend since he knows if I start reading I lose track of time and everything around me. 🙂

So I waited until we had to travel back home. And Oh My Gosh this book is so wonderful, perfectly in style with Tim Burton. It is creepy, gross at times, but also absolutely wow! It is not only text, it also has drawings to complement the prose/stories.

I would surely recommend it to all who love Tim Burton. I am not sure if it will appeal to everyone else, he has a really distinct style and I know from experience that it is not something that everyone will like. It is at least not for the faint-hearted. So be warned, it is a good book, but be sure you can handle it. 🙂
