Waiting on Wednesday ~ The Heir and Saint Anything
Greetings!
Another Wednesday, and this time I have 2 books that I am really looking forward to. Two books that I almost immediately pre-ordered as soon as I heard they were coming out.
!!!Be warned there might be spoilers for The Selection Series. The Heir description expects that people read the series completely. !!!
So here we go. These are this week’s most anticipated books:
Twenty years ago, America Singer entered the Selection and won Prince Maxon’s heart. Now the time has come for Princess Eadlyn to hold a Selection of her own. Eadlyn doesn’t expect her Selection to be anything like her parents’ fairy-tale love story. But as the competition begins, she may discover that finding her own happily ever after isn’t as impossible as she always thought.
Peyton, Sydney’s charismatic older brother, has always been the star of the family, receiving the lion’s share of their parents’ attention and – lately – concern. When Peyton’s increasingly reckless behavior culminates in an accident, a drunk driving conviction, and a jail sentence, Sydney is cast adrift, searching for her place in the family and the world. When everyone else is so worried about Peyton, is she the only one concerned about the victim of the accident?
Enter the Chathams, a warm, chaotic family who run a pizza parlor, play bluegrass on weekends and pitch in to care for their mother, who has multiple sclerosis. Here Sydney experiences unquestioning acceptance. And here she meets Mac: gentle, watchful, and protective, who makes Sydney feel seen, really seen, for the first time.
So why do I really want to read those books?
Well the first one is one I am kind of worried about, yes, I am excited. But, I am also very worried. For me the series stopped at the last Selection book, and while I am delighted that there will be more, delighted that the series will continue and now with a new character, I am worried how it will turn out.
For the second book (the Sarah Dessen book), well thanks to people on Goodreads, I am now completely addicted to Sarah Dessen books! (Thanks boys and girls!) I am super excited to try out and I am hoping I will love it just as much as I do with most of Sarah Dessen’s books!
