Another wonderful Wednesday, it is already almost June, wow, how time flies. Soon it is summer! This week I got 2 books, instead of one I normally have. I just couldn’t pick, both these books looks wonderful and I just can’t wait to read them!!
So here we go. This week’s most anticipated books are:
The luxurious celebrity cruise launching the trendy new diet sweetener Solu should be the vacation of a lifetime. But Laurel is starting to regret accepting her friend Viv’s invitation. She’s already completely embarrassed herself in front of celebrity host Tom Forelli—the hottest guy ever!—and she’s too sick to even try the sweetener. And that’s before Viv and all the other passengers start acting really strange.
Tom knows that he should be grateful for this job and the chance to shed his former-child-star image. His publicists have even set up a ‘romance’ with a sexy reality star. But as things on the ship start to get wild, he finds himself drawn to a different girl. And when the hosting gig turns into an expose on the shocking side effects of Solu, it’s Laurel that he’s determined to save.
Twelve-year-old Emily is on the move again. Her family is relocating to San Francisco, home of her literary idol: Garrison Griswold, creator of the online sensation Book Scavenger, a game where books are hidden all over the country and clues to find them are revealed through puzzles. But Emily soon learns that Griswold has been attacked and is in a coma, and no one knows anything about the epic new game he had been poised to launch. Then Emily and her new friend James discover an odd book, which they come to believe is from Griswold and leads to a valuable prize. But there are others on the hunt for this book, and Emily and James must race to solve the puzzles Griswold left behind before Griswold’s attackers make them their next target.
So why do I really want to read those books?
First up, Book Scavenger. I adore books (Ah, duh!) and reading that this book will feature a scavenger hunt with books. Books hidden all over the world? I am just so excited, I love MG books, especially those about mysteries, hidden ciphers and puzzles! Also that cover, I just love it.
For Sweet, well I loved Emmy Laybourne’s Monument 14 series, and I was so excited when I heard she was writing a new book. This time more horror than dystopian or sci-fi, but still a book I would love to read. Dream vacations? Cruises? Everything goes horrifically wrong? Um, yes, yes and yes please! I can’t wait to see what will happen to the passengers, how the fight for survival will happen and of course, I do hope the romance will be written in a way that it isn’t overpowering or taking over the story.
