Review for 5 Very Good Reasons to Punch a Dolphin in the Mouth and Other Useful Guides
Another great The Oatmeal book! This times it has dolphins, grammar lessons, hamsters with weapons, and more!
I have been following The Oatmeal comics for some years now. The comics are often quite rude and crude, but more often just hit the nail on the head, in other words, while it is crude/rude, it is often just so true. And you can’t just help nodding along (while also shaking your head at the harshness).
For some reason I hadn’t read this comic yet, I have read several of the other books by The Oatmeal, but it seems I missed this one. And I could I? The title is amazing, even me as a dolphin lover, can’t help but laugh at the silliness of it all.
This book combines new and old, there are several new comics, but you can also find some oldies in this one. It was really fun seeing them back in this one, even if I knew them it was so much fun to read them again.
The art is typical The Oatmeal style, at times I wonder if it is good, but at other times I just don’t care because the text is just so funny and you don’t notice the rest.
My favourite parts would be the hamsters + weapons and the grammar/spelling lessons.
I would recommend this book to everyone, however, be warned, if you can’t handle crude/rudeness then I would say leave this one, otherwise? Read it!
