Review for Ever After High: Dexter Charming and the Trouble with Jackalopes: A Little Mr. Cottonhorn Story

25531424I just adore the Ever After High series (I even started watching the show (soooo much fun)), and so I was delighted when I saw there were little books out about the pets and their owners.

The first one I found was Dexter Charming’s, a character I generally like pretty well. He is smart, he is kind and nice, he likes electronic stuff, but still reads from physical books (because he prefers that), and several other great characteristics.
Also his feelings for Raven are just sooooo adorable and make me go squee every time. I do hope they will have a happy everafter too. Though I guess, it might be a long way off, considering Raven doesn’t see Dexter that way (yet!).

In this book we got a fair chunk of that romance though, and it was just adorable to see Dexter blush and stumble over his words.

Of course the book is also about Dexter’s pet, a know-it-all jackalope who seemed a bit too posh and meh. So I was quite glad the focus was less on him and more on his owner.

I had quite a laugh at what Raven’s spell did this time, my oh my, the chaos was just all over. Luckily she also had a chance to do better.

The ending was really adorable and cute.

All in all, this was one book that I really liked, even if I didn’t like the pet. Would I recommend this one? If you read the Ever After High series (or seen it) and you want more, these are the perfect little stories to read.
