Review for My Big Fat Zombie Goldfish: Live and Let Swim

25433626Another brilliant book in this brilliant and hilarious series.

A few days ago I was looking at my bookshelves, and I noticed something weird, I was missing a book in this series. I went online to see if I had it/read it, but it seems I didn’t. Of course, I had to correct that and I went to buy the book. And it got delivered yesterday. \o/

Once again this book is split up in 2 parts. The first part is about Aquariums, kitties, octopuses, singing mascots and evil plans. I have to say that out of the two stories, this one was the one I liked the least. It was just too much over the top, especially with the addition of the Oddjobz guy. I did like Sami and how she can connect to animals (and I also want a life vest with a shark fin :D). Frankie was fun, though I felt sorry that he was being chased by a lot of things in this one.
I do have to give credit to the fun chapter titles, which were all so delightfully punny and James Bondy/spy-like. I had quite a few snickers each time a new chapter popped up.

The second part is about pet talents, scanners, evil plans, return of characters. I really liked this story, especially since we have another story with Geeky Girl, who is just totally awesome and who I hope will visit more often. The story was still a bit over the top, but way less, and it was actually more believable and more fun than the previous story.
I also liked what happened at the talent show, and what happened with the talents of the pets. Of course, I won’t say what, but I had a laugh, especially with that ending.

The book is once again illustrated with great illustrations which will make you laugh, will make you snicker, will make the story come to life. I still love them!

Now I have read the whole series, and I can now only hope that Mo O’Hara will be writing a new book soon. 😀
