Yessss, guess what post is back? My Waiting on Wednesday has been gone for almost 4 months, but it is now all back again! I hope you are happy to see it back, I know I am. I was hoping to bring it back, I quite missed it, and now that I have some time I can do these WoWs again each week.
We kick of the new year, and also the first new WoW post with not one, but two books! One book is features a theme that I just love to see in books, the other is a book that just sound so hilarious I just HAVE to read it to find out what happened to the main character.
So here we go!! This week’s most anticipated 2 books are:
When Elektra is discovered by an acting agent, she imagines Oscar glory can’t be far away, but instead lurches from one cringe-worthy moment to the next! Just how many times can you be rejected for the part of ‘Dead Girl Number Three’ without losing hope? And who knew that actors were actually supposed to be multi-lingual, play seven instruments and be trained in a variety of circus skills?
Off-stage things aren’t going well either – she’s fallen out with her best friend, remains firmly in the friend-zone with her crush and her parents are driving her crazy. One way or another, Elektra’s life is now spent waiting for the phone to ring – waiting for callback.
Can an average girl-next-door like Elektra really make it in the world of luvvies and starlets?
My name is Caitlin and up until forty-eight hours ago I had never:
Tasted alcohol, kissed a boy, sang in public at the top of my lungs, kidnapped anyone or–WHAT? STOLEN A CONVERTIBLE?
Now I’m in jail and I have no idea what I’m going to tell:
The police, my parents, the mayor, all of those camera crews and everyone on Twitter.
I have just noticed that:
My nose is pierced and I have-WAIT? IS THAT A TATTOO?
I blame one person for this entire insane weekend:
My famous cousin.
Who is also my former best friend.
Who I have HATED for the past four years.
Who I miss like crazy. NO I DON’T!!!!
IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT, HELLER HARRIGAN!!!!
So why do I really want to read those books?
Waiting for Callback: I just love books about fame, about acting, actors/actresses, about being discovered. And this one sounds just perfect, I am really curious to see how far Elektra can make it, and if she will get that call back from that agent.
It’s All Your Fault: Sorry, that blurb just had me in a fit of giggles, and that cover? Amazing! I really can’t wait to read this and find out what the hell Caitlin did in that weekend. I hope the book is as much fun as the blurb makes it seem. 😀
