Welcome to another Waiting on Wednesday! Sorry, that they seem to be irregular, I do want to make them, but at times I just am too busy, or I just can’t pick a book from all the ones I want to read. 🙂
But this week I got one that I am really looking forward to. It is a book that bundles 15 stories by various authors, and it sounds absolutely amazing. Kick-ass girls in various jobs (Pirates Oh my!) and positions, through the ages.
Criss-cross America — on dogsleds and ships, stagecoaches and trains — from pirate ships off the coast of the Carolinas to the peace, love, and protests of 1960s Chicago. Join fifteen of today’s most talented writers of young adult literature on a thrill ride through history with American girls charting their own course. They are monsters and mediums, bodyguards and barkeeps, screenwriters and schoolteachers, heiresses and hobos. They’re making their own way in often-hostile lands, using every weapon in their arsenals, facing down murderers and marriage proposals. And they all have a story to tell.
Packed with tension and sure to illicit shivers in its readers, this new Fear Street book is another terrifying tale from a master of horror.
So why do I really want to read those books?
That is easy, I just love books with kick-ass characters, especially girl characters. So I was already squeeing in happiness when I heard about the blurb and saw the cover, and then I saw the authors. Beth Revis, Marissa Meyer, Robin Talley and 12 other authors. Wow! I also love the fact that the short stories span such a big time period. Not only pirates and trips on stage coaches, but also protests in the 1960s. It seems like a varied bundle of awesomeness, and I just can’t wait to get it in my hands and read it. Just a few days more!
