Yep, I have another WoW for you, sorry for the absence of it last week. It was a busy day and I was really tired, so I just couldn’t write much. But I am back for this week, and I hope the other weeks as well.
This week I got a book from a series. It is a series that used to get a lot of books a year, but last year only had one book, and this year it seems it will also only be one book. Which is just such a shame, as the series is absolutely terrific. They are shortish books (160~ pages) but they are terrific, and quite scary at times. I do wonder why the author stopped writing more books, maybe the series didn’t sell enough?
Anyway, I am absolutely excited for this new book, it sounds delightfully scary, and the cover is also pretty creepy. If you are looking for a series about all kinds of things.
Cora Nicolaides is panicking: It’s just three weeks until the school dance, and she’s the only one of her friends without a date! But then Cora meets Evan. Evan is cute and smart, and he even encourages Cora to volunteer with him at the nearby sculpture garden after school. Cora’s friends think the garden is creepy—some of the sculptures look a little too lifelike. Cora isn’t about to let a few weird statues come between her and her crush, but deep in the garden, Cora might just learn that some stones are better left unturned.
This terrifying tale is rated a Level 4 on the Creep-O-Meter.
So why do I really want to read this book?
Well, lets see, first of all because I am always looking for new horror to enjoy, and this series does have some really creepy horror books. Secondly this sounds pretty awesome, statues that look too lifelike? I am so curious what the tale is behind that. Real humans? Living statues? Something different? I just can’t wait for it to come out, still some time away, it won’t come out until July 26th, but I will be eagerly waiting.
