Review for Shin Chimoguri Ringo to Kingyobachi Otoko Vol.1

978-4803008777Yay, I am so glad that this series is having a sequel.

It was quite sad the prequel ended where it ended. Luckily this one picks right up and we never have a moment of rest. Training is essential and there are a whole lot of new trainee divers that need help now that the village (and teachers) are gone.

Plus there is the whole threats against the blood divers group (from letters, explosions, to worse). And then we have one annoying character who apparently is butt-hurt because she has to wait until they find something about the curing of people who are goldfish.

Really, Zakuro was the worst character so far. Even Suika picked up and became better, but it seems Zakuro is now my hated character of this series/volume. The stupidity and the violence the girl resorts to just because she can’t handle being patient was just painful and I wanted to hit her on her head and feed her to the Fishbowl man.
Really girl, do you want to endanger everyone, and their future, just so you can kill the thing? Just be patient, if it is needed to kill him, you can always kill him later.

We also didn’t see much of the fishbowl man this time, even with all the rain, even with all that happened, he only popped up near the ending.

What was going on between the MC’s friends? Haha, I saw it coming. It was also pretty clear in the previous series, and I am happy to see some progress between the two. They make a lovely match. <3 <3

The art is still not really my favourite, but I do see improvement and that makes me happy.

I can’t wait for the next volume, this one ends on a cliffhanger, and gahhhhh, I just want to know what happens to everyone. Will they be OK? What will happen to the fishbowl man? Will Zakuro get eaten (oh, please, yes)?
