Review for Big Mushy Happy Lump
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review!
The second volume that bundles Sarah Andersen’s comics. I just had to have it when I spotted it on Netgalley. I just love her art, her comics are fun (and at times totally relatable).
The comics in this one? Well, like with the previous one, I knew all of them, at least the first part, I am not entirely sure if I know all of her comics in the later part (with the text explaining about her life and anxiety). But that doesn’t matter, sure, I read them all, but her comics have a good re-readability, you can just keep reading them again and again.
Sure, I had kind of hoped there would be some more new comics, that is always fun, but I am already quite delighted to see her comics off the internet. Now one can read her comics whenever and wherever they want.
The art is still a good one, of course at times the characters look a bit weird, but mostly it fits the style of the comics.
One might feel a bit awkward about the menstruation comics, but I don’t mind them that much. Especially since they are all 101% true.
My favourite comics from this bundle are the ones about her boyfriend, her stealing his sweater, how they met, and more. They were so cute, but also funny to read (and again, relatable!)
All in all, I would highly recommend these comics. Even if you have read them already online, even if you never heard of this artist (how could you!) I would say, read them! Keep reading them. And let’s all hope she will be making another fun bundle for her comics.
