Review for Zekkyou Gakkyuu Vol.18

Well, this was definitely an improvement over the previous volume. The stories in this one were all awesome and creepy. Just one story was a bit less, but still I would give it 3 stars.

Hour 1: The Dark Donation: 4 stars. Ohhh, very interesting story. I didn’t like Miyoshi that much. Sure, she was trying to do her hardest to make the world a better place, but as one of her classmates stated, it seems she is just doing it to become popular, to be the centre of things. And that is also how it seemed to me. She just went too far. Plus her jealousy.. The ending was WOW, and that revelation about Ria. I didn’t see that one coming. Not at all.

Hour 2: The Wish on a Fairy: 4 stars. Holy crap, this girl’s action would make Yuuno Gasai jealous. 😛 I thought this girl was so sweet, but she went full yandere, creeeeeepy. I am not sure how I feel about her friend though. She seemed so supportive but then there is that ending and I am not sure about things. Yes, I am all for supporting her (because everyone deserves happiness), but I wish she was honest with the MC about her feelings. That ending. Sorry Sakuraba. You don’t have any life anymore with this girl after you.

Hour 3: The Invisible Popstar: 3 stars. Quite a good story, but I was pissed off at the MC for being so mean. You could have said that stuff nicer, plus did you really expect an answer? That girl is probably busy herself, and she tries her best to answer everyone, but really… And then our MC goes truly mean, and well…. That last part was pretty intense, our MC didn’t deserve that. She felt sorry, she didn’t know the popstar girl was in that bad of a state of mind (why didn’t anyone reach out to help her).

Hour 4: The Residents of the Darkness: 4.5 stars. Ohhhhhhhhhh, creepy. I definitely liked this one a lot. A spooky home, a suicide, and anyone taking anything from the home… well…. you will have to find out. I am not sure what to think of the MC though. She was a sweet girl, but what she did to her friend? No. Just no. Sure, that best friend wasn’t always that nice, but still. That ending was awesome~

Extra Hour: The Scapegoat: 3 stars. Mm, a decent story, and I did feel sorry for the MC, his parents do seem to care more for the latest addition to the family than for their older kid. 😐 Then again, he didn’t have to kick that statue and try to just hide as if nothing happened. The ending was a bit confusing, especially the latter pages. Is he safe now? Or not? I am quite curious, and would love to see an epilogue.

Additional Hour: The Christmas Wish: 4 stars. OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG *flails* That ending.
That poor girl, she just wants Christmas with her mom, and her mom just needs to work. 🙁 I am not sure if the bakery meant this kind of wish, I sure hope not. 🙁

The Christmas Wish bonus: 4 stars: OMG OMG OMG *continues flailing* The hell is up with that! What did that kid ever do! 😐 Creepy as hell!

All in all, a terrific volume with lots of spooky, creepy stories that will make me check out every corner before going to sleep tonight. I can’t wait until next month when I can buy the next 2 volumes!
