Review for Race Drivers and What They Do

Review for Race Drivers and What They Do

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

Liesbet Slegers has done it again. I normally read these in Dutch, but I couldn’t resist it when I spotted this one on Netgalley. I just had to read it. 🙂 Racing, cars, fun illustrations!

The book is all about racing, mostly about Formula One. I don’t really have much with the Formula One, or at least the races (too boring + too much noise, even on tv), I just love the cars and love seeing new cars pop up in the world with each new race. Plus I love finding out more about how the races work, and what is happening during a race. Most of the things in this book weren’t new to me, though I did learn that the drivers have a straw inside of their helmet to allow them to drink!

I like how the book was at first a bit of a manual on what Formula One is, but then moves on to training, exercises, various days of the Formula One. Like on day 2 there is a time trial. The next day is the race.

The text is all easy and well-written. I am sure kids will love this book. Not only does it have fun information about races/Formula One, but it also has cute illustrations that show various things from races/Formula One!

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone. If you like Formula One/racing be sure to check this one out.
