Blog Tour ~ One S’more Summer by Beth Merlin ~ Guest Post
Hi everyone!

Welcome to the Blog Tour for One S’more Summer, a book perfect for this month (and the coming months). I am really delighted that I have a guest post to share with you all. I asked if the author could tell us her Do’s and Don’t’s for summer camps, and I got a fun post listing those Do’s and Don’t’s.
Next to the fun guest post, I also got the standard information (book/author), but also a very fun giveaway! (Though sadly only for my US readers.)
So let’s get started!
The Do’s and Don’t’s of Summer Camp Life
Once you arrive at summer camp, you’ll quickly discover there are certain things that are 100% required you do (and a few others you should probably stay away from!!)
Do learn everything there is to know about all your campers. They are your surrogate children for the summer and, whether you realize it or not, you will have a profound impact on the rest of their lives.
Don’t judge people upon first meeting. At camp, you will meet a lot of people from all walks of life, some of whom you would never guess will end up being your best friends.
Do participate in as many of the camp activities as possible. Color War is an absolute must!
Don’t worry too much about showering, or make up, or dealing with your hair. It’s camp, not prom.
Do learn how to make the ultimate s’more. It’s all about the marshmallow – getting that perfect golden brown outer layer and mushy, gushy center. Cook up enough of’em and you’ll be a pro in no time.
Don’t be afraid to make a fool of yourself every now and again. Camp is about having fun and being carefree, and nothing says “carefree” quite like being able to laugh at yourself every now and again.
Do fall in love at least once at camp. There is nothing like a summer romance.
Thanks so much Beth Merlin for writing those Do’s and Don’t’s, they will come in handy for all of us who are summer camping this summer!
Now time for some book and author information + a giveaway. (Be sure to join!)
If you love Sophie Kinsella and Emily Giffin, you’ll love this heartwarming debut from a fresh voice in contemporary chick-lit that offers a lighthearted and fun take on friendship, love, and how to recover from past mistakes.
For twenty long years, Gigi Goldstein has been pining away for her best friend’s guy. She knows it’s wrong and it has to stop, but she hasn’t been able to let go ever since they all met on the bus to summer camp back when they were 7 years old. The same week that her best friends finally announce their wedding date, Gigi loses her high-profile design job. With all of her dreams unravelling, she runs to the last place she remembers being happy.
Taking the Head Counselor position at Camp Chinooka, Gigi hopes to reclaim the joy she felt as a camper, but the job isn’t all campfire songs and toasting marshmallows. Gigi’s girls are determined to make her look bad in front of the boys’ Head Counselor—the sexy but infuriating Perry—and every scrap of the campground is laced with memories.
When Gigi finally realizes she can’t escape the present by returning to her past, she’s forced to reexamine her life and find the true meaning of love. But will she be able to mend fences and forgive herself before she loses her one real shot at happiness?

Beth Merlin has a BA from The George Washington University where she minored in Creative Writing and a JD from New York Law School. She’s a native New Yorker who loves anything Broadway, rom-coms, her daughter Hadley, and a good maxi dress. She was introduced to her husband through a friend she met at sleepaway camp and considers the eight summers she spent there to be some of the most formative of her life. One S’more Summer is Beth’s debut novel.
