Review for Heart and Brain: Body Language

Review for Heart and Brain: Body Language

I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

The organs and our Yeti author are back again with a new book full of hilarious situations that are super-relatable. From waking up at 3 am to tell you all about your biggest life’s failures to valuing pizza over healthy foods.

The book is a mix of multi-panelled comics and one illustration comics. I quite like that the author mixed it up like this.

Most of the comics are about the organs, from the Bowels and his grumpiness and stinky farts to Heart who generally is very silly, but at times also wants to listen to Brain (on his terms though). But there are also comics with our author (the Yeti) dealing with health problems, with anxiety, and sleeping (darn that brain and waking people up in the dead of the night).

There were a lot of comics that were really relatable (like pizza is indeed better, salt on your food even if you haven’t tried it yet, biting on your tongue, not falling for photoshop, why only take one pet when you can have more, and many more).

I had a big laugh at the eye roll comic, now every time I roll my eyes I see my eyeballs exercising. 😛 Thanks. 😛

One comic was something I already saw another artist also do (the one with the language deteriorating), still funny that is apparently something more people think about.

The art is still great, it really captures the organs actions perfectly.

What more? Ah yes, a few of the comics I recognised from the author’s twitter. It was fun to see them again.

All in all, I would recommend this book to everyone.
