Review for The Lost Puppy

Review for The Lost Puppy

Dot is back with a brand-new mystery!

This time we have dogs, quizzes, a summer fair, the end of a school year, and of course a new mystery! This time involving Chipolata, the (very) cute little puppy owned by Geoffrey.

At first nothing is wrong, but then Chipolata disappears! The only thing they find is her lead with her collar, but no Chipolata! Of course everyone in class (and the parents + teachers) spring into action to help find the little puppy. They know she can’t have gone far (unless she was kidnapped), so Dot and her friends make a small map with all sorts of places the little pup could have gone to.

I loved how much everyone did to find the puppy. From bringing around flyers to asking around. It is a good thing that the town isn’t that big + that the little puppy can never have gone too far.

Next to the puppy mystery we have the preparations for the fair. It was so much fun to read all the things that would happen at the fair, I wish I could have been there. I want to eat all the food, participate in all the fun activities!

I knew quite quickly what McClusky was hinting at, and eventually (after he had gotten rejected a few times) I was just shouting at Dot to let McClusky go and lead her to wherever he wanted to lead her. 😛

The ending was adorable, cute, and I was very happy with it.

Of course the book is delightfully illustrated with bigger and smaller illustrations.

All in all, I really enjoyed this new book, and I hope that Dot will have many more mysteries to solve! I can’t wait to see what the next one will be about.
