Waiting on Wednesday (Special Edition) ~ A Slip of the Keyboard

Evening all,

It is Wednesday! And the second week of my special edition of WoW! This week I got a book that is on #8 in the top 10. It is by one of my favourite authors, may he rest in peace, Terry Pratchett! I have most of his books, but I am apparently missing this one (oh no!). I saw a small teaser pop by some weeks ago, and immediately put it on my wishlist on Goodreads.

From what I could see the book covers everything from Discworld to Lord of the Rings to well anything else. All sorts of musings, and I am curious what kind of stuff he is writing about. I wonder if I already need to pad my floor with pillows because if he writes this with the same humour as all his other stuff… I will need it. 😛

Also I want to read that foreword by another of my favourite authors, Neil Gaiman!

So dear Santa, this is #8, so it is a bit lower on the Top 10, but it is still a book I really want!

Terry Pratchett has earned a place in the hearts of readers the world over with his bestselling Discworld series – but in recent years he has become equally well-known and respected as an outspoken campaigner for causes including Alzheimer’s research and animal rights. A Slip of the Keyboard brings together for the first time the finest examples of Pratchett’s non fiction writing, both serious and surreal: from musings on mushrooms to what it means to be a writer (and why banana daiquiris are so important); from memories of Granny Pratchett to speculation about Gandalf’s love life, and passionate defences of the causes dear to him.

With all the humour and humanity that have made his novels so enduringly popular, this collection brings Pratchett out from behind the scenes of the Discworld to speak for himself – man and boy, bibliophile and computer geek, champion of hats, orang-utans and Dignity in Dying.
