Autumn is almost here and oh boy I am excited to finally see the world turn yellow/red/orange again, to snuggle up under blankets and drink hot tea or hot chocolate, to read books while the weather is cold and stormy. Just a bit over a week left before Autumn hits, and when I saw this tag I was curious, was I ready for sweater weather? Well, I can say yes, in fact I am wearing a sweater right now (though that may also be because of my fever and my body not knowing if its cold or hot).
Hot Chocolate – what is your comfort book?
My comfort book? Mm, do I have one? I don’t really go for one specific book when I want comfort. I just pick any book from my library that radiates comfort, mostly those are either comfy romance books or humour books.
Pumpkin Carving – what is your favourite creative outlet?
I don’t really do a lot of creative stuff these days. Unless writing for my blog (reviews) counts? Otherwise I love knitting, but I don’t really have people to give stuff to (my hubby for instance doesn’t like warm stuff even in the cold of winter), so I gave up after having tons of scarves and hats around the the house. Maybe one day I will pick it up again.
Falling Leaves – changes that appear bad but you secretly love?
Oh my, I am not sure how to answer this one. Generally the changes that appear bad are ones I don’t really like. So can I just go for villains? I do love a well written villain. swoons when she thinks of The Darkling
Pumpkin Spiced Latte – something you love that others tend to judge
I love children’s books/picture books, but a lot of people frown upon it as I am not a child any more. I have had people comment on my non-existent children and telling me it is good that they read so much, or people pointing me to the adult books, or people telling me I should read for my age.
Also, I love Twilight! Yep, I confess. I love the books and the movies are fun too. I even watched the movies in the cinemas when they came out. But I don’t dare to tell most people that as people seem to have a general hate for the series.
Bonfire Night – what makes you explode with joy?
My husband. I know cheesy, but I just love it when we are both at home in the evening and can cuddle and play games or watch movies. Another thing that fills me with joy are my little hamsters and hugging them. And then there are tons of other things that make me explode with joy. A good book, cuddling with a warm blanket and hot chocolate when it is cold outside, finding new food to love and enjoy.
Fright Night – favourite scary book or film
Mm, book-wise can I just pick an author? In that case I would go for Darcy Coates, she writes some AMAZING horror stuff that really creep one out.
Movie-wise? There are just too many scary movies that are terrific. For instance Conjuring series, but I am also a big fan of Japanese horror (like Ringu and Ju-on). I can’t wait for October when I can watch all the horror movies I have been saving up for that month.
Halloween candy – favourite thing to eat
Since we are talking about candy, It really depends on my mood what my favourite candy is. At the moment I am all for Kinder Surprise Eggs and Milky Way Crispy Rolls. However maybe next week I want to eat Haribo Peaches again, or gummies.
On the note of Halloween Candy, I am so delighted that Halloween is getting more known in my country and that each year the candy stores have new (and some older favourites) candies for that season. I can’t wait to see what this year will bring.
Scarves – your autumn ‘must have’ accessory
My fall must-have accessory? Definitely one of my scarves! I love to cuddle in it when I am outside and it is freezing. My second favourite accessory? Hats! I got so many and each year I buy new hats, fluffy ones, colourful ones, funny ones. Anything to keep my head warm during the cold.
Fire – a book or film that burns your soul
I would have to go for the Unfortunate Events series. I know, not a book, but a series, but that is one of my favourite ones and it burns my soul, definitely.
Toffee apples – a book or film that seems one thing but really has a different inside
Phew, this is a hard one. I would go for Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. It seems to be a cute book about a girl writing fanfiction and dealing with college, but it goes much deeper than that. Mental health gets featured a lot, family drama, and more.
Wow, this was A LOT of fun. I was already in a good Autumn mood but now I am even further in that mood. Can it be fall already? Please? I would love to see other people do this tag, so I say I tag everyone! Are you ready for autumn? Be sure to let me know if you do this one as I am very curious about all of your answers.
