Waiting on Wednesday ~ The Unofficial Ultimate Harry Potter Spellbook
Evening all!
Happy Wednesday all and a warm welcome to a brand-new magical Waiting on Wednesday! This week I am featuring: The Unofficial Ultimate Harry Potter Spellbook.
I am not sure how I bumped against this book, but bump I did. I immediately went to Amazon to see a preview, fell in love with the book, and now it is on my OMG Need To Buy shelf. Though for now I am mostly hoping that maybe Santa is going to buy it for me. ;D
This book is all about the HP world spells, more than 200 spells apparently are in this book and I am so excited to finally have a good reference book for the spells. Because yes, I have read all the HP books and more, but I still for the life of me can’t remember all the spells. So this one would get a good home and I would definitely use it plenty when re-reading HP or when something new pops up. Also worth to mention I am curious about the history of the spells and how to pronounce them (and not in an annoying Hermione way please).
I also love how the cover looks weathered, like it has been going from hand to hand for years.
The Unofficial Ultimate Harry Potter Spellbook is a beautiful, elegantly designed reference that details all of the known spells cast in the Harry Potter films, books, video games and card games, as well as official Harry Potter spinoffs, such as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Each spell is given its own entry including spell name, pronunciation details, a description of the spell effect, spell casting methods, wand movements, hand movements and vocalizations, plus primary sources in which the spell was used. Readers will also find trivia related to each spell, such as who it was used against, what the outcome was, or what a spell’s unusual history might be.
There are more than 200 spells in all, plus suggestions for strategic spell use and methods for creating original spells.
