Happy Wednesday all, and welcome to a brand-new Wednesday. This week I got zombies! And LGBT romance~
I was adding books to my 2020 list when I bumped against this one, I read the blurb and fell completely in love with this story. It has zombies (which I love so send me all your 2020 recommendations for them) and LGBT love, what more do I want? AH yes, the whole mysterious secret past of a sanctuary and how it may destroy everything. Or the fact they are on an island.. which works fine throughout the year… but when things freeze over the dead can come and say hi (and no, you don’t want that).
I also love the cover and how you see two sides of that island/that house.
Now I just got to wait until February, and it will be a nice late-birthday present as it comes out the day after my birthday.
In a post-apocalyptic America, a community survives in a national park, surrounded by water that keeps the Dead at bay. But when winter comes, there’s nothing to stop them from crossing the ice.
Then homebody Peter puts the camp in danger by naively allowing a stranger to come ashore and he’s forced to leave the community of Wranglestone. Now he must help rancher Cooper, the boy he’s always watched from afar, herd the Dead from their shores before the lake freezes over.
But as love blossoms, a dark discovery reveals the sanctuary’s secret past. One that forces the pair to question everything they’ve ever known.
