I just couldn’t resist this book when I saw it in the library. It looked cute, and I was curious where the animals should have to sit. Sure, I was a bit confused, why couldn’t the animals just sit on chairs and the likes? But then I shrugged and went along with it.

As you read, the frog has to rhyme animals names with where they can sit… it sounds simple, but can you think of anything that rhymes with platypus and ibex? Only he isn’t having an easy time as is evidenced. These are the animals with not so easy to rhyme names. There is a whole group just waiting for frog to tell them where to sit, patiently but also eager to learn their sitting destination. But then an idea pops in his head and I just loved it. He thinks of a wonderful plan and helps out everyone… well.. Nah, you will have to read to find out.

I had a laugh seeing where the animals had to sit. From slippers to sailors to sherbet candy. Don’t think you will ever get a normal seat.

He really is wonderful at rhyming, though with some I had a hard time seeing how it rhymed. Then again, I am not native English so maybe the pronunciation I know is different from how some English people would do it.

The art was really fun, I loved seeing the various animals and how they were drawn.

This book isn’t only fun for the rhyming and seeing frog be creative and original, but also for kids to learn various animals.
