Sunday’s TBR Updates ~ 15-3-2020

Afternoon all!

Bakemonogatari, Books, Gif, Red Books, Girl, Boy, Diving/Jumping, Anime

Happy Sunday all, and welcome to a brand-new Sunday’s TBR Updates.

Phew. What a week. It was quite busy, filled with everything and anything. On top of that the corona virus is spreading like mad and my country is taking precautions, which meant I had to hop to various libraries before they closed (and I was just in time for all 3 of them) and I was without books for 3 weeks. Now I should have enough books to tide me over. I saw people do strange things (like hoarding all the things in the supermarkets and other shops).
As for reading, I had plenty of fun reading all sorts of things (and sadly also DNF-ing some books). The TBR from last week, well that one feels quite empty and is happy I added new books just now. I started reading manga again, I should really get into that again, I feel like I am reading less and less of it which makes me sad.

What did I read from my TBR Pile? De Dansende vampier (boring and bland it was just a bit too coincidental how the story went), Hipster Baby Names (hilarious and fun to read), Lech (OMG this was quite exciting to read), Mijn dood en ik (a pretty OK poetry book about death), De geest van de meesterdief (meh, I just wasn’t a fan of the characters and the story could have been better), Cinders & Sparks (took me 2 tries but I read it, it just felt weirdly written, but I did like the Cinderella retelling idea), Lottie Luna en de bloementuin (such a wonderful and fun book with great characters), Zomerhuis (it took way too long to get to the point that was mentioned in the blurb, and Leon was just annoying), Costa Brava (this one was quite exciting, though I am not happy with the cheating element).

I tried and didn’t finish: Truth or Dance (I just couldn’t get into it, again), Veel Liefs (I wasn’t a fan of the female POV and the male POV read like a script read by a robot), Jemima Small versus the Universe (not a fan of Jemima or the people around her), The Girl Who Stole an Elephant (the MC was just sooo frustrating).

Here is a brand-new stack. I have removed Hand on the Wall as I am not in the mood, or well I tried the book 2 times this week and it just didn’t work, probably because I don’t want the series to end. I added new library books + a new book was delivered this week (The Night of Your Life). I will first start with Meer Vinexvrouwen after that maybe one of the thrillers.

TBR, To Be Read, Thrillers, Books, Reading, Stack of Books

And that is it for this week’s Sunday’s TBR Updates. What are your book plans this week? Let me know! I also want to wish everyone a good weekend, and please be safe in the coming week(s).

  1. I have definitely put off reading a book before simply because I didn’t want the series to end hahaha It prolongs the inevitable just a little longer…

    1. I am so happy I am not the only one who does this! I have two books on my TBR now that are final books in series, and OMG, I don’t want two series to end in one go. *cries*
