The Goodreads Tag

The Goodreads Tag

Morning all!

Guruguru, GIF, Red-hair, staff, book

Welcome to a brand-new Book Tag! I just couldn’t resist this one when I found it over at Dream Come Review. I use Goodreads so much I thought this one would be fun to answer!

1. What is the last book you marked as read?
The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack: Family, Crix Sheridan, Lumberjack, Human, Picture Book, Yeti, Blue, Photographs, Family, Fun, Cute, Children's Books
The Sasquatch and the Lumberjack: Family by Crix Sheridan.
2. What is the last book you marked as “TBR”?

I believe the newest Alfie Fleet book that got delivered yesterday. I only tag books for TBR if I actually have them, and I got 3 shelves for that. To-read-home, to-read-library, and to-read-review.

3. What book do you plan to read next?

Genoeg, Yentl Keuppens, Pink, Girl, Portrait, Young Adult, Anorexia, Eating Disorder, Clinics, non-fictionCat's Cafe: A Comics Collection, Yellow, Cats, Animals, Comics, Humour, Cafe, Coffee, Webcomic, Matt Tarpley

Genoeg by Yentl Keuppens + Cat’s Cafe by Matt Tarpley

4. Do you use the star rating system?

Yup! But with a bit of me mixed in. In the beginning I was OK with their star-rating system but I wanted to use half stars, and so a couple of years ago I made shelves so I could do just that.

5. Are you using the 2020 Reading Challenge?

Yes, but only to keep track of my 2020 books (next to my journal). I pick a random number each year, this year it is 66. I just get too stressed out if I would use it as a real challenge.

6. Do you have a wishlist?

Yep! Two even. I got a shelf called OMG-Need-To-Buy with books I want/need to buy + I got a shelf named Squee-Books-I-want-as-presents which is pretty self-explanatory and which I truly need to fill up more.

7. What book do you plan on buying next?

Wow No Thank You, Samantha Irby, Essays, Non-fiction, Humour, Memoir, LGBT, Samantha Irby, Bunny, Green BackgroundThe Revenge of the Invisible Giant, Dundoodle Mysteries, David O'Connell, Claire Powell, Boys, Girl, Hands, Candy, Red Hair, Children's Books, Giant, Magic, Fantasy

Going to be buying Wow, No Thank You by Samantha Irby + I want to buy a couple of new comics that are coming out next week.

8. Do you have any favorite quotes? Share a few!

I got many, some I have forgotten as they aren’t on Goodreads, but some are on Goodreads and I can share those!

“Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.” – Lemony Snicket, Horseradish

“When girls walk home we put on lippy and makeup. We chat. Sometimes we pretend to be hunchbacks. But that is it. Perfectly normal behaviour.” – Louise Rennison, On the Bright Side, I’m now the Girlfriend of a Sex God.

“So you killed him with what now?”
“I tried that Dr. Phil book at first… and I finished it off with the toilet seat. Just so you know, you left it up again. That drives me crazy.” – Jesse Petersen, Married with Zombies.

9. Who are your favorite authors? Share a few!

Lemony Snicket, Thea Beckman, Terry Pratchett, Louise Rennison, Gail Carriger, Clive Barker, Walter Moers, Mel Wallis de Vries, Sibéal Pounder, Darcy Coats, Eva Burgers, Jacques Vriens.

10. Have you joined any groups?

Yep, a couple, but I am only semi-active in 2 of them. Sadly, one of the groups is slowly dying.

Whoop, this was so much fun to answer! Definitely something I could use in this time of anxiety and stress. Who to tag? I tag all my readers! I would love to see everyone’s answers!

  1. This is fun! I signed up for Goodreads and then, honestly, kinda dropped off the map when it comes to using it. I really need to get back to it as a way to better organize not only the books I currently own but haven’t yet cracked open, but also my thoughts on what books I still want to pick up lol

    1. Thank you! Yeah, Goodreads really makes life easier. You can makes shelves for anything and choose to make them exclusive or not. I still haven’t found another site that has all the features that Goodreads has. Good luck with organising your books and getting everything sorted~
