Welcome all to a new Waiting on Wednesday, this week I am featuring The Summer I Drowned by Taylor Hale, which sounds like a very exciting thriller read and I cannot wait until it comes out next month.
I love the premise and what can come out of it, so many possibilities. A girl who almost drowned, crimes that happen around her, but is it real? I cannot wait to find that out, is it bad that I am hoping for the it’s all in her mind-thing? I think that would work out the best. Though the alternative…. makes me wonder who would target this girl. Does she know something? Argh, I cannot wait to find out which route the author will go and how they will write it.
It sounds like a creepy, exciting read and since it takes place in summer it is perfect for the time it releases.
Sadly, while the cover looks cool, I am just not impressed with it as I have that kind of cover (more or less in the same way) on quite some other books. A shame.
Five years after almost drowning, Olivia Cathart returns home to Caldwell Beach determined to face her fears and take some risks―not just by swimming, but by opening her heart. Hoping to rekindle her friendships, she’s excited about a carefree summer with her best friends Keely and Miles. But life in the sleepy town has changed, and no one and nothing is as it seems.
When a series of startling crimes threaten Olivia’s fragile state, she is plunged into a terrifying game of cat and mouse. Her only solace from the chaos is West, Miles’s disowned and ruggedly handsome brother, but even he can’t answer the question on everyone’s minds―is Olivia really in danger or is it simply all in her head?
