Library Haul 19-7-2020

Hi all!

Nyarko GIF, Books, All the books

Welcome all to a brand-new and SUPER AWESOME Library #2 Haul.

Oh boy, I was so happy I could visit before my vacation, plus I definitely could use some new books as almost every new book goes right in my vacation box.

They had something new in the lobby of the library, a big screen that mentioned how many visitors were in the library, constantly updated as people went inside. I am really happy they added this, that makes it easy to see if one should go in or not.

Since I had a lot of reservations (see next paragraph), I only had to find a couple more. I had a few reservations that should be in the library, so I went on a search for those. And I understood why most of the reservations were still open. 😛 They weren’t on the shelves. But I did manage to find a couple and then I also found a couple of other books that seemed interesting.

This time I had 52 reservations (yes, I went full out so I didn’t have to stay too long at the library). I found 2 quite quickly, but then had to look around for the rest. You don’t hide that many books easily, and when turning around I noticed two baskets, full to the brim with books. 😛 I am quite happy they did it this way makes it easier for me, though I had to ask a security person if he could help out as I couldn’t carry two baskets and my shopping trolley at the same time.

Also I am glad that I checked my phone before leaving… I thought I had all my reservations, but there were 3 more. Argh. But apparently they were hidden in another bookshelf.

STATS: 58 books. 4 comics, 14 picture books, 11 non-fiction, 29 fiction.

NOTE: About half of these aren’t on Goodreads, I will be adding them when I read and update the list as well.

NOTE 2: Sorry for the blurry pictures, I couldn’t get the light right for the books.

  1. Wow. I’m seriously impressed. 😯
First of all, I didn’t even know you could reserve so many books at once at the library. How much time do you have until you have to give them back? Second of all, I’m totally envious that your library is open. Ours is open again too but you can only go there if you have reserved books but our library doesn’t even have a system that shows what books they have! Also, the times when they are open at the moment are absolutely stupid, so I continue using Scribd. 🙂
I hope you have great fun with your new haul. 🙂

    1. Depends on the libraries here on how much you can loan/reserve. Library #2 allows me to borrow 60 books and that means that, if I want, I could also reserve that many books. Since it is summer/summer vacation, I can borrow the books for 8 weeks. Normally that is 4. This is once again depending on the library. It is a bit confusing, and at times I wouldn’t mind all the libraries to have the same subscriptions.
Sounds like your library is still in the phase before it really opens. When the libraries here opened up again at the end of May/early June they also only allowed reservations at first, and then later opened it up for everyone with safety precautions, so I hope your library goes to the next phase so you can visit again. Though it is a bit weird that they don’t have a system to show what books they have, how do you reserve books then?
Thank you, already started reading one of them and enjoying it. 🙂 Thanks for commenting~
