This is an adorable book, but since I read it on my Kindle (my tablet is downstairs and my hubby is working there) it was all black-white. Maybe I will re-read it later to see the colours.
This book is about Monster he LOVES nature and decides that he wants to have it safely with him. So he can always see it. Always be there. How does he plan on doing that? By storing them in jars. Yep. I could understand the monster though, I could see why he wanted to put everything in jars. Especially in the human world where nature gets destroyed so easily.
We see how our the collection grows and grows and I was wondering when that pivot point would come. That one point where things would go wrong and he would get the revelation. I have to say it was really well done when it popped up. It felt very natural and not rushed.
Also yes, I was waving at Monster at the end of the book. I couldn’t resist. 😛
The art, not entirely my favourite, sorry, the best I could explain why is how simple and childish it looked. I don’t mean this in a mean way, but I have to be honest and if the art is not to my liking.. I have to mention it. So please no pitchforks and fire OK?
All in all, this was a cute book with a good message.
