Review for Elphie Meets the End of the World

Elphie Meets the End of The World, Hagit R. Oron, Or Oron Misgav, Sunset, Sun, Pink/Purple Sky, Elephant, End of the World, Great Parenting, Friendship, Hide and Seek, Fake news, Picture book, Children's BookI received this book from the author in exchange of an honest review.

I was delighted that Hagit R. Oron had a new book out, a new Elphie even! And while it is not about Corona specifically, I do feel that it may be a perfect time for this one, because it is a scary time for kids, and may feel like the end of the world. But it is also perfect for any other time.

This time Elphie is with his friends when he overhears someone talk about the end of the world and that they heard that being said on TV (geez people, don’t believe everything you hear or see). Poor Elphie immediately runs home and goes to his parents and what happens next just had me cheering for those fantastic parents. Because instead of dismissing Elphie or being short with it, they talked about it, remembering the older lessons from other books, and they did something very fun to take Elphie’s mind of things. I won’t tell you what because I don’t want to spoil the surprise, but it gave me a big smile and I can just say that I was happy to see a smile appear on Elphie as well.

I had a big laugh at the end when Elphie was on the balcony and his friend asked him where he hid. Oh yeah, Elphie ran away from his friends and their game. Oops. 😛

As I said in the previous book I am becoming more and more a fan of the art and I love seeing it improve. In this book it got even better and that made me smile.

All in all, I am happy I got the chance to read this book and I would recommend it.
