Review for Your House, My House
I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review!
I just adore books like this! With so many little details and that you can see stories in the illustrations next to the story you are reading. You really get a glimpse in the lives of these characters. And there are lots of characters living in this apartment building! From bears to foxes to rabbits/bunnies, it is a diverse bunch here. I do pray that these characters homes are bigger than we see. That we just see a part of it, because oh boy, some animals just have one room. So I am just going to imagine that the building is split in half and that there is more to it.
In this book we see various things happening in the house. From a family of cats moving their stuff (and oh no, poor little kitty dropped his box) to the rabbits preparing for a party to a fox family who is about to get a new tiny one. As you flip the pages you see more and more happening in the home, but also look outside! Because there are things happening outside. Characters that seem to have escaped for fairy tales. From a slow turtle on a bike, to a wolf outside the window (and the three escaping piglets), to a girl who burgled in the house of the foxes (Goldilocks is that you?), and a couple of others. It definitely made the story more fun and engaging.
I loved seeing the lives of these animals, I am glad we could have a day in their lives.
The art was also really adorable and cute. And again, so many fun details! Even after you just read the story you can read it again as there is still plenty to explore.
I would highly recommend this book to all. I would definitely want to read it again in physical form as at times it just didn’t work given this is an ebook and the pages are split up. I just want to open the book up, see both pages and totally disappear in this one.
