Review for Hana-Kimi: For You in Full Blossom, Vol.8
A really fun volume in the series, argh, just got one left before I got to search for the rest.
In this one Julia is determined to find out if Sano knows about Ashiya and what his feelings are, we see more about Shin and learn more about Sano’s family, and lastly, remember that photograph that was taken last volume? The boys are famous now!
I really had fun reading this one, I especially loved the part where Julia decides to find out if Sano knows, and what his feelings are. I loved that Julia did this for her best friend, and I am glad that Sano finally came clear. OK, it is not to Ashiya, but it is a start and I hope that it doesn’t take much longer for him to confess to Ashiya. I did love his expression when he said those words, even he was surprised by himself.
We also learn more about Sano and his family and it really made me happy. Yes, it was also sad, because of what was going on, but for most I was just so happy that we learn more about characters other that Ashiya.
And lastly we end with the boys going famous which let to some very cringey/hilarious scenes. I did feel sorry for the guys and wish the girls would have acted a bit more normal. How one photograph can lead to this, and I am guessing given the story isn’t over yet that it will continue the next volume. I wonder what the boys will decide. Will they go with the photographer and do a shoot, or not. And what is the history between the photographer and school doctor? MMM, I need more deets.
Oh, and that new teacher. GOSH, if you hate kids/teens so much maybe you shouldn’t be teaching. The things he said and did… meh! I am glad that people stood up against him and notified him of the rules (as he clearly doesn’t know all of them). I am a bit worried he will be back in the next volumes… I just hope that the other teacher comes back soon!
Once again, Nakatsu and Julia. Really, Nakatsu, stop being such a freaking dick. You are already not my favourite character but your remarks just make me dislike you even further. Calling her all sorts of names, going full confrontational if you even glimpse a little bit of her. It was just cringey and I would have loved someone to just smack Nakatsu on the head for being a dick. OK, Julia was doing fine on her own, but I would have liked someone to also step up. Now everyone was just laughing uncomfortably about it.
I am sad that Julia is leaving, but I had a feeling she wouldn’t be here for the full run. I will miss her and seeing her have such a good time (well, minus the whole Nakatsu situation) in Japan. Making new friends quite quickly, adjusting quite well, and more.
All in all, a great volume and I love seeing Ashiya and Sano have little moments together. I can’t wait for more moments!
