Waiting on Wednesday ~ The Cousins

Waiting on Wednesday ~ The Cousins

Evening all!

Welcome to a brand-new Waiting on Wednesday (how is it Wednesday already?). This week I am waiting for The Cousins by Karen M. McManus which is set to release December 1st.

The Cousins is the newest book by Karen M McManus and I just cannot resist a good (well, hopefully good) mystery featuring family and inheritance and a dark past (I am so curious about that part). Plus, it takes place on an island? That is one of my favourite settings in mystery. So many possibilities and things that can happen. And often no way out. It also screams Umineko with a dash of We Were Liars to me.

Now it is waiting until my library gets it. If one of them gets it. I would buy it, she used to be on my auto-buy list, but I just wasn’t a fan of her latest book: One of Us is Next. Still very sad about that. But I still want to continue reading her books, hoping they will be as awesome as One of Us is Lying and Two Can Keep a Secret. And if this book turns out awesome? I will definitely add it to my collection of her books. 🙂

Silhouettes, house, gold letters, Karen M. Mcmanus, Young Adult, The Cousins, Mystery, Inheritance, Secrets, Mystery, FamilyThe Storys are the envy of their neighbours: owners of the largest property on their East Coast island, they are rich, beautiful, and close. Until it all falls apart. The four children are suddenly dropped by their mother with a single sentence:
You know what you did.
They never hear from her again.
Years later, when 18-year-old cousins Aubrey, Milly and Jonah Story receive a mysterious invitation to spend the summer at their grandmother’s resort, they have no choice but to follow their curiosity and meet the woman who’s been such an enigma their entire lives.
This entire family is built on secrets, right? It’s the Story legacy.
This summer, the teenagers are determined to discover the truth at the heart of their family. But some secrets are better left alone.
