.hack// Legend of the Twilight, Vol. 1, Manga, Adventure, Fantasy, RPG, The World, Twins, Family, Manga, Tatsuya Hamazaki, Rei IzumiWelcome back to The World!

The second book in the series and A LOT is happening in this one. There are still some fun moments of cuteness and quiet, but mostly the rollercoaster has started. We are on the way to the first loopings and things will go fast! I am excited, because while I love all the humour and the slice of life events, I am happy for some excitement. Get to see what is up with Shugo/Rena, see what Aura’s plans are.

We meet Kamui and ah yes I remember that I never liked the character and the idea that these people are the top dogs in the game… I mean, I get that you want to get rid of bugs, but come on there are good and bad bugs in this game. Plus, she is one of a crew, and they are all kind of obtuse with things. Having people like that rule the game? That just doesn’t make me want to play a game. Knowing that you can get in trouble for just something tiny, doesn’t make playing fun or relaxing. You would constantly be wondering if you are breaking a rule.

We meet a girl named Zefie (and see jealousy arise with Rena, haha, girl you cannot even do anything with Shugo, he is your freaking brother). The group tries to find her mother, Aura. Zefie is adorable and I hope they find her mom. I had such a laugh (though it was also a sad moment) when Zefie thought she saw her mom.. but it was a reflection in the water, you can guess what happens next.

Balmung went up a little in my respect, but just little. I still prefer the old Balmung over this one. Not just because of how he is around Rena, but also how idly he stands by and how he acts like he is better. Not a fan.

The ending, holy wow. That was on the one hand unexpected (given that it wasn’t x that happened but y), but on the other hand expected (as they are that kind of crappy person + we know CC Corp had their eyes on our group). I just felt so sorry for our group and my heart broke when I saw what was going to happen. I will definitely need to read volume 3 (the last one) very soon.

I am definitely loving the art in this one!

All in all, a fantastic second volume that sets the stage for an awesome finale! I cannot wait~
