Review for Marvel Spider-Man Swing Into Action!
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
So while I am not too big of a fan of Marvel/DC stuff I do have some superheroes in those universes that I like. One of them is Spiderman (well, actually my favourite is Spider-Gwen, but still counts, right?). So I had to pick up this book when I saw it on Netgalley.
In this fun and delightful book we get a spoiler-filled journey through the Spiderverse, and then mainly the normal Peter Parker, the original one if one could call him that. We read about his friends, about how he became Spiderman, how he made all sorts of gadgets (including the webshooter), how he became friends (or at least teammates) with other superheroes and there is so much more and I really enjoyed reading this one because of all that but also because of the fun way it was written. I was totally invested into learning all about Spiderman.
Haha, I just hadn’t expected that it would be so spoilery. It is no problem to me because well you know I am not into it that much, but I can imagine that for a newbie or someone who has just seen bits of Spiderman and is interested in seeing more that that, this wouldn’t be a very welcome book. I mean it delves DEEP.
Also, I didn’t know that Spider-Gwen/Spider-Woman is now Ghost-Spider? I only really know her as those first two names so that was a surprise to me. I even looked it up as it just sounded so weird. XD You can see here how much I care about Marvel/DC stuff. ;P
The book is also heavily illustrated and I just loved it all! It gave it that comic feel and that is perfect. The style was really great and did Spiderman and everyone else justice.
All in all, be warned for spoilers, but I would recommend this book to all.
