Review for Crafting Authentic Paper Flowers
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
So when I saw this book I was instantly interested. I just love books about crafts. Not that I do said crafts because I just don’t have the money to spend on all the crafts I read about. Plus, I am sure my husband would call me crazy that each time I get a craft book in my hands I start a new one/get things I needed. XD But I still like to pick up these books and learn new things. Find out how things work. See beautiful things being made.
In this gorgeous book we are going to make authentic flowers with crepe paper. Quite often the dried flower-look. The first section of the book is about various items you need (lots and lots of items) and then we learn several techniques plus also get some flower anatomy. And then the real deal starts! I had fun seeing which flowers she picked (along with information on the flower/plants) and see how she made them truly come to life. When the book said authentic flowers I was a bit doubtful, the cover did look pretty, but would it really work out with just some paper? Well, I can tell you now that it does look pretty real. Not all, but most of them do. And I love that!
The instructions are pretty clear, though maybe there is just too much, while I wasn’t doing the craft I did get a tad confused at times at all one had to do. So I am happy there are also photographs to show part of the process. I am also happy that the author added centimetres along with inches.
The photographs (of the flowers and of them in a setting at home) were just so pretty!
All in all, a fun book that was really interesting to read. I am happy I had the chance to try it out, and who knows, maybe one day I will make some authentic flowers as well.

I’m not craft AT ALL but I would love to be able to make those paper flowers. Would be so pretty!
Then definitely get this book! The instructions are a bit busy but the pictures really help and all you need is tons of crepe paper along with some smaller stuff. 🙂
