Review for Penny and the Little Lost Puppy

Penny and the Little Lost Puppy, Emily Sutton, Green, Dog, Friendship , Moving, New Kid, Gorgeous, Children's BooksAn absolutely gorgeous picture book that you can get lost in with a sweet story.

In this stunning picture book we meet a little girl named Penny who has moved to a new home/new town. She isn’t happy, as expected, her dad tries his best but he just doesn’t seem to understand that she misses her friends so much. I was so happy for her that she found a friend, though I did think it was a bit odd that she thought the dog was just a free dog of his own and that even her dad didn’t comment on it, instead stating that they will look for it. Oh well, a small detail. I did love seeing them head in town and EXCUSE ME, I want to go there. That bakery just looks to YUM. The grocery store overflowing with YUM. The streets looked pretty. That park!

I loved the ending and it just made me have a big smile on my face. I am so happy for Penny!

The illustrations were just WOW. Sometimes, haha yes really, I had to re-read parts of the text because I was just lost in the illustrations. They are vibrant in colours, full of details, and you can just keep looking and keep finding things to see. LOVE it.

Be sure to check out the endpages (at the beginning and the end).

All in all, a beautiful story about that it isn’t easy to move, but when you meet a friend (and also a cute friend) things can get better. With gorgeous illustrations.

    1. It is a supersweet cover, and the art inside is just as cute! Haha, if you ever get kids they will have all the fun with a mom who has stacks upon stacks of picture books ready. XD
