Review for Soomi’s Sweater
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.
This book just sounded too cute to pass and so I had to request it. Haha, my Netgalley shelf is slowly getting a bit more fuller which both pleases me and frightens me. XD I think all bookworms have those same emotions.
In this adorable book we meet Soomi, a little girl who gets a big present. Literally. She gets a beautiful sweater but it is just too big! I adored that instead of saying no after explaining when Soomi would fit in the sweater mom just helps out and makes something out of the sweater! That was just the sweetest and the thing I would have also done for my kid if they had a big sweater or a big other item of clothing.
Of course, I knew the sweater wouldn’t have a good first day so I was both looking forward to seeing what happened and dreaded it. Looking forward to it because I was very curious if Soomi and her friends could find a solution.. or if it would just turn into a big big mess. I had a bit of a laugh at the kid who wanted to see if a bandaid would help. Um, you can always try. XD It is such a kid solution and it was adorable! I did wanted to hug Soomi and tell her that her mom is amazing and wouldn’t mind a rip. And I was right, mom did an amazing thing and I was just cheering! I know I would have done the same magic. Well, maybe not that butterfly, haha. I am good at sewing but embroidery is just not my forte. My ADHD just gets bored of it. I tried. XD
The art was really cute and fitted well with the text/story told through text.
All in all, I would recommend this adorable and cute book to all.
