Review for Spider-Man: No Way Home: Spider-Man’s Very Strange Day!
What to do when you are down in spiderdumps because your identity fell through? Go out with your friends and have a fun day at The Sanctum Sanctorum!!
I spotted this book on Amazon and just HAD to add it, while I was there though I saw another Spiderman book and took that one along as well. You can look for a review for that one coming some time this month. XD
In this book we see how Peter Parker isn’t the happiest. His identity was shown to the world. Cameramen all over the street, press everywhere. Thankfully, Peter has some amazing friends who take him outside, and what better place to visit than the fun Sanctum Sanctorum. That is right, the place of Dr. Strange (he is apparently not happy if someone takes his coffee, which sounds like my husband) and his strange(r) friends. I had so much fun seeing Peter and his friends (and a very grumpy looking Dr. Strange) walk through the Sanctum and enjoy beverages, unlimited which is a big yes to me, have a snowball fight and lose a friend through a portal, talk to rats and do a dance party. We see Peter go from unhappy/unsure to more confident and more happy and that just made me happy as well. I am happy he got such great friends and man, I wish I could have joined the party and be part of all these fun things.
Along the way in the fun day I learned some new things about Sanctum Sanctorum. I am not a big reader of superhero stories, there are a few superheroes that I do like to read about, but still not a lot, so I mostly only know bits and bobs of stuff. I loved seeing how they protect Earth, see the various people who lived/worked at the place, and more.
The ending made me smile. So happy for Peter/Spiderman.
The illustrations were so fitting and fun and I really love the style. It just fits so well with Spiderman/Marvel!
All in all, highly recommended. This was just so much fun and I am so happy to see Peter again.
