Review for Indigo Wilde and the Creatures at Jellybean Crescent

Indigo Wilde and the Creatures at Jellybean Crescent, Blue, Monsters, Humour, Travelling, Adventure, Children's Books, Magic, FantasyA hilarious laugh out loud adventure featuring a house full of creatures big and small!

I have had my eyes on this book for AGESSSS! I think from around the time it came out! Why didn’t you buy it then, Mehsi? Well, Amazon either never had it in stock or it was highly overpriced. I could have bought the Kindle edition, but I could see from the preview at Amazon that the book was all in colour. Since my Kindle doesn’t do colours… it would be a shame to read it! But thankfully, I was visiting Library #1 and what was there? This book! In English!!!!!! dances

In this book we meet Indigo Wilde, a girl who was found by her explorer-parents in the wild. She was about to be eaten by a big ferocious tiger! This girl is quite special. She has little horn, rainbow streak in her hair, and I am sure there are other things going on with her! I love how caring and responsible she is. I mean, I am not sure if I was her age I would do all the things she did. Haha, not that I am lazy, but some of these tasks? Are just too much. She cares for the whole house. For all the animals. And I loved that she is so eager to do them, but I would have kinda also liked her be like meh about it. XD I loved that she quickly came up with smart plans and that the creatures of the house helped her out. Also big plus points to the fact she is a reader! Her room has stacks of books everywhere and it made me smile (plus, also maybe a bit jealous as the books she has lying around are pretty interesting and I would love to check them out).

I am normally not a fan of little brothers/sisters in stories, but I actually liked Indigo’s brother in this one! Like his sister he is a bit special. He is half-dragon. Plus, he cannot hear, so everyone around him does sign language. Which I absolutely loved.

The house is normally already quite chaotic with a lamacorn wandering around and eating bloomers, yeti twins playing sports, and some other creatures wandering around, but a new animal has arrived and it is up to Indigo to find out what is going on before the house breaks down. I loved the search and what is that creature. I was also thinking hard what it could be. We know it is fast, white, and loved chocolate, but that leaves so much room! I had a laugh at all the chaos that happened. So much chaos! But it also allowed us to meet other creatures from the house.

The neighbour was just annoying, a typical villain/Karen. I am glad that she got some comeuppance in this book. XD

I absolutely loved that we got some extra pages on the monsters along with fun notes and details! I would definitely love a separate book about these animals. Maybe later when the series is over? That we can add this one to the collection? Because yes, I will be buying this book!

The illustrations were fantastic and it delighted me that they were all in full colour! It just brought the book to life and I loved seeing all the creatures in their bright colours~

All in all, I really need book 2! I want to meet those parents, see what new creatures are coming, and more! I would recommend this one to all.
