Friday Face Off #2: 17-6-2022: So Pretty

Evening all!

A big Hi hi to all! Welcome to the second Friday Face Off! Today is So Pretty, aka we are going to find the prettiest cover. And that is going to be hard because I REALLY LOVE PRETTY COVERS AND HAVE SO MANY OF THEM. coughs Sorry. XD

I couldn’t find a Friday’s Page 69, so I thought, let’s see what Friday Face Off has this week. And it was a pretty covers theme. Sign me up. SO many times. I had fun going through my Goodreads shelves, but also check out my Cover Lover Saturday for some extra not-on-my-shelves books. And then came selecting just one cover that also had some other covers for various edition. Each time I was like, OHH I will go for this cover. finds out there are only 2 different covers in total Well, on to the next one. XD

What is Friday Face Off? It’s a memepost created by Books by Proxy and now hosted on Books and Travelling by Lynn! The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book (this doesn’t have to be a book that you’ve read), compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.

So for today’s book I went with The Drowning by Rachel Ward, a book I read in Dutch in 2016, I sadly, cannot remember a lot of it anymore, but I do remember the Dutch cover as it was one that is used a lot for other books as well. Haha. As you will see in a bit you will see how big of a difference there are between the original book and all the other editions. I really love it when a book has so much variety over the world. From just a girl standing in the sea to a girl going full mermaid. It is interesting!

I am going for the original cover, because I just love the colours there and I love the artwork. However, on a very close second is the Russian cover, because DANG that looks beautiful and I love the big glasses and the way the house gets more details due to the glasses. Love it~

Thank you all for reading! This was tons of fun, finding the right covers, seeing which one had a lot of editions (so little books have editions with varying covers). I hope you enjoyed and be sure to let me know in the comments which one is your favourite!
