Friday Face Off #9: 2-9-2022: Fallen Leaves – Covers that are Brown

Evening!!

A big welcome to a new Friday Face Off! Fall is around the corner and so today we are going for a brown cover!

Well, here the leaves are still mostly falling because of the heat we had in July/August. For real, at points while bicycling in my vacation I thought it was autumn. It was that the temperatures were 30-40C otherwise it would be completely believable. XD But I definitely cannot wait for fall. I am ready! I cannot wait to start cuddling into blankets again while reading books. Drinking tons of hot chocolate. Watch the leaves fall, but now because it is fall and becoming winter. I can’t wait to make apple pies.

Surprisingly, this one was relatively easy to find as a cover! I was searching for brown covers and quickly found a book I liked that I wanted to feature. I really enjoyed going through the various covers there were. Sadly, most just kind of sucked. XD Harsh, I know, but really, some of these covers are just so boring.

What is Friday Face Off? It’s a memepost created by Books by Proxy and now hosted on Books and Travelling by Lynn! The rules are fairly simple each week, following a predetermined theme (list below) choose a book (this doesn’t have to be a book that you’ve read), compare a couple of the different covers available for that particular book and choose your favourite.

Today’s book is City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau. This book was definitely fun, about a city under the ground and a group of kids finding something that makes everything seem questionable. Why do they live under the ground? Is there a new future? And the cover is brown! Whoo!

I am going for the cover that I know already. It is so detailed and I love the browns and yellows, love that the way they look at the city is through a lightbulb.Β
