Review for Tag, You’re Dead
Exciting, mysterious, I would love to participate. I was fully invested!
😍 The game of tag along with the challenges and the ghosts. While I am sure that the game of tag wasn’t supposed to go this evil, it was still a fun one to read about. I loved that you got a bracelet and that it changed colour. From chaser to runner. If you stayed in the game long enough you could switch plenty and that made things, for me at least, very exciting and way more fun than if everyone was just assigned one thing. Also I liked that you could take a breather for a bit, just get back within 5 minutes.
😍 The mystery and the addition of Rose’s “ghost” was fantastic. Things were already pretty exciting with the whole tag game and some people going very far, but now the addition of more revenge and more creepy stuff? Love love it. It gave it a new edge and made things way more dangerous. Plus, not to mention… we went from one person with connections to the dead girl.. to many more. And I was in for it. I just needed to know what everyone’s connection was to Rose and who was the eventual real murderer. Who did it. What did Anton have to do with it? How did everything click together? And the author did an amazing job. There were plenty of twists and turns and each time we learn something new it shifts something. In the end I had 2 or 3 suspects that went down to less but then we also had the person behind all these challenges and taking over the game of tag. I have to say that the murderer (at least of Rose) was a person I kind of saw coming, but the one doing all the challenges and bringing out the truth? I didn’t expect that person UNTIL a certain hint was dropped. And even then I was HOLY WHAT when things came out.
😍 I loved that, while not being a fan of the characters that much, we get to learn more about them and see more about their past and get to know them. That is not always something that happens. Sometimes you get a whole cast of characters only to get to know one or two of them, but in this one we learn more of everyone. Love love.
😍 The cover! I didn’t even realise it until I got home again and put the book next to its friend, but it matches with the book It’s Behind You! The blood drip! That is such a cool little thing and I hope it continues in her next books.
😍 That it took place in London. So fun! And I love that the city just continued on while people were doing things. I had kind of expected, given who Anton is, that maybe he would do things so that things were more secluded, but instead it is just a big game of tag in the middle of busy London.
😍 I love those glasses and kind of want one now.
😍 That ending! WOW! WOW! WOW! Kind of sad the game of tag was over, but this was also fine with me. Things really got put in a rollercoaster!
😶 Despite loving this book and every twist turn… I just wasn’t a fan, or not that much, of any of the characters. Well, OK, maybe Erin was a contender for someone to like, but it took me a long time to get through that wall of hers and see another Erin. Charlotte was just horrible and maybe should see a doctor? I mean, if you are so obsessed with someone to the point that you TALK with an imaginary them in PUBLIC and even make up some very sexy/swoony fanfic.. and wear a sweater with their face on it? It is time to seek help. I just wasn’t a fan of her. She was just too much OMG ANTON YESSSSSS. And then there is Grayson. Who I wasn’t that big of a fan of, but I think for me, it would have helped if instead of the jilted ex-lover he was her brother. Later on with all the things I could see it work better the way it was written, but still, it just was a bit too much for me. I guess that is the point, but still.
All in all, recommended to all! This is a perfect scary/spooky/exciting read and I am so happy that I read it. It was perfect for a hot summer day, some chills! I cannot wait to see what is next for this author!
