😍 While predictable (which is a boo), I did like the mystery because I liked seeing the kids figure things out and find clues and try to make plans to capture/find the thief. It was fun that the kids, in between the show, talked and laid down the clues. That they interviewed people.
😍 Ava the daughter of Vee! I hope we see more of her.
😍 Loved learning more about the characters, and not just the main characters, but also the side-characters. Like how Vee is working hard to have money for the operation her daughter needs. Or how the actress playing the principal isn’t that bad. But also see Aubrey take a shot at singing.
😍 Very fast-paced. I read this book in a flash. Before I knew it the book was over!
😍 Seeing the acting + reading about the show! It makes me want to step into the book and just see it live. See it on TV. The show sounds right up my alley.
😍 Thena. Amelia’s pet. It was such a fun addition to add a new pet to the book and I found the choice very fun. Not just a dog or a rabbit, oh no, something more special. At least for me, I mean, I don’t know anyone with that kind of pet.
😍 The cover! It is so much fun!
😍 The illustrations! They really made the book come to life and I always have fond feelings for books with illustrations.
😍 Almost no Amelia’s Mom. Thank the heavens! I don’t like her at all, so having very little appearances in the book makes me want to rate the book higher. XD
😍 The friendship between Cody, Aubrey, and Hayley! They are such good friends and I love how they are often together, helping each other out, supporting, solving mysteries, and more!
😍 Hayley is such a fun MC. She is sweet, kind, has a knack for mystery, works hard on the show. And also knows when to apologise!
😍 Salmon! Hayley’s cat~ He is such a cutie and I just love that many people added a cat flap to their trailers so that Salmon has even more room to roam. Plus, he plays a big part in the ending with capturing the thief.
😶Still unsure about Amelia. She does show some better sides in this book, but I am still not a fan. I am glad that it feels more natural now to have her in the friendship group though, but I still wish that she was added now instead of forced in the first book (yes, it felt forced).
🙄I guessed the whodunnit from like VERY early on. And apparently that was indeed also the criminal. Please, just make it more difficult to guess. That is all the fun.
But all in all, I had tons of fun reading this book and I am glad I got the chance to do so! I still got the next book and I am hoping to read it this weekend (writing this one on the 7th of October). I would recommend this book (and the first book) to all. Mystery! Perfect for Halloween season.
