Hey hey all~

A warm welcome to a new book tag! Welcome to the New Year’s Book Tag!

I already was thinking of maybe doing this one, but with how busy my blog was I wasn’t sure. Then I got tagged by the amazing Celeste from A Literary Escape (check out her post) and I just had to plan it ASAP. And here we are! This was a lot of fun to do, so thanks Celeste!!

How many books are you planning to read in 2023?

No clue! As many as I want. Haha. 📚📚📚📚📚📚

Name 5 books you didn’t get to this year but want to make a priority in 2023.

🥰Dark Lullaby by Polly Ho-Yen
🥰The Undertaking of Hart & Mercy by Megan Bannen
🥰The Collectors by Lorien Lawrence
🥰Mina and the Slayers by Amy McCaw
🥰You Had me at Hola by Alexis Daria

What genre do you want to read more of?

I already read pretty varied, but I guess this year I would like to read some more horror books! More zombies! More ghosts! More scary stuff!

Name 3 non-book-related goals for 2023

🤩Getting that chest of drawers (is that the right word) that is in our living room painted and looking good again. I have been thinking of doing it since we moved almost 4 years ago but I just haven’t gotten to it. Mostly because of 2-3 years of COVID and all the restrictions. But this year I want to get to it. It is now just in wood colours, and I am thinking painting it white or something with colour, not sure yet. It would be nice to have a pop of colour again. Plus, I want to get rid of the handles and get some funky/fun ones.
🤩Not sure if it counts as goal, but I would really like 2023 to be the year I finally find a doggo! We have been searching forever (well, OK, since 2021 with some pauses in between thanks to anxiety/stuff coming up) and so far no real luck.
🤩Stress less. Not sure if I can do that because I have been trying for years, but I really want to try harder these year. Just not take things too seriously. Just let things slide away from my shoulders instead of cropping it all up.

What’s a book you’ve had forever that you still need to read?

That would be Dark Lullaby by Polly Ho-Yen. That one has been on my shelves since 2021.

One word that you’re hoping 2023 will be.

Haha, just one word? Can I not get more? OK, then I think I will go for happy. I want to feel happier again.

🤩💕🌟💫🥰🤩💕🌟💫🥰🤩💕🌟💫🥰🤩💕🌟💫🥰

And that is it! I will be tagging everyone who wants to do this one. I have seen it on so many blogs already. If you do this one thanks to this post be sure to shoot me a message so I can check out your post! Thanks for reading all!

  1. Yay, you did it! I admire that you don’t have a set goal for the number of books you want to read this year…how free! I hope you get around to reading THE UNDERTAKING OF HART AND MERCY…it’s a great grumpy-sunshine book. Happy reading!

    1. I did! *happy dance* Yeah, setting goals didn’t work for me when I tried it a few times years ago, so now it is just reading and reading. XD It is very freeing~ Hopefully! I love a good grumpy/sunshine book so I am excited! Thanks!! And thanks again for tagging me~
