I received this book from BookSirens in exchange of an honest review.

Its been a while since I had a BookSirens book, but I just couldn’t resist this one when I got a mail about new ARCs! However, while I loved the illustrations and how the dinosaurs were drawn, I wasn’t such a fan of the text.

The text is always “The Thing About Dinosaurs is…” followed by something about dinosaurs, like eggs, or meat eating, or whatever else. But the sentences just didn’t always seem to match with each other. It felt like a disconnect. As if first all those “The Thing About Dinosaurs” was written and afterwards the rest. And some just felt weird. I think if you just skipped the whole Thing About Dinosaurs part it would have worked much better. I mean, the facts that we did get were OK, simplistic, but that fit with the whole book. And there were a two that made me laugh (the pet and if you meet one).

But the art? I loved it. I loved how colourful and fun it was. I loved the style of the dinosaurs. It was a fun style, I don’t need the realistic style with hair and feathers.

So yeah, fun book, but I cannot give it more than 2.5 stars.
