Happy Birthday Book Haul 2023
Afternoon all!
A warm and happy welcome to my Happy Birthday Book Haul! Yesterday it was my bday and I had such a good time!!
This year we could finally go somewhere for my birthday! Yep! The last we celebrated my birthday big was in 2020, when we went to visit a glass museum. So I was very much excited that this year we could really go somewhere and I was excited to find out where we would go.
My hubby kept mum and was teasing me a bit about it. XD We went to a huge huge military museum features all sorts of fun exhibitions about police, military, about wars, history, about weapons, tanks, airplanes, and more. It was all very interesting. The top floor was mostly exhibitions and rooms and downstairs on the ground floor were all the BIG things, like tanks, support and rescue vehicles, airplanes/jet fighters were on the ground or in the air. It was so freaking awesome. And we spend quite some time there and walking around outside as well (they even had a piece of the Berlin Wall).
After that we went to a restaurant, it is one we really love and has several locations throughout the country. Sadly, apparently this location was full. That was a first for us, as the only time we ever had to reserve for a seat at this restaurant was in the quieter days of corona when things were opening up again slowly. Thankfully, on the way home there was another location and before we went my hubby decided to just be safe and reserve a spot. We got there and ate a lot of yummy food! I really love this restaurant with how much care they put in making sure that allergies/etc. are handled carefully.
And then it was driving back home and there unwrapping all the amazing presents my hubby got me, glomping him in happiness, and then also unwrapping MY own presents. Yes, this year I decided to be kind to myself and just give myself a big present as well! A big stack of manga, which, thanks to being German manga, weren’t expensive at all (I got them all for around 5-6 euro per volume)! After that cake and then bed. Yes, it was a long day, but oh so fun. OK, today I am regretting doing a lot on Friday, because in combination of Sunday, I am just dead tired and I got a flare-up in pain. But I wouldn’t have missed my bday for anything!
So I got books! Manga! But also other presents! Some cooking/baking items, including a supercool baking tin featuring dinosaurs! But my hubby also got me a baking tray, we just had one and it made making cookies a long long job as I could just put one batch at a time. I told him it was annoying. But now I can do two! Whoo! I also got a cool art print, Scooby Doo and Shaggy + a villain Playmobil figures (for the Mystery Machine bus that did feature Velma/Fred/Daphne but not Scoobs and Shaggy that I got for Christmas). And there is more. He really spoiled me. Thank you my love!
I got 5 books from my hubby, 4 from my OMG-Need-To-Buy shelves and one he found himself (the Scooby book). So hyped about the books he picked! And I got 11 manga for myself!
