Sunday’s TBR Updates ~ 26-3-2023
HI~~
A hopefully-Spring-is-coming-soon hello to a new Sunday’s TBR Updates!
This week was a ride. HOLY CRAP. falls asleep I am glad I took Monday off to do mostly resting. Tuesday I had my 3-5-years check-up (will hear results in 1.5 weeks). Wednesday was appointments + library #1. Thursday was the start of puppy chaos. Friday my hubby had to work as we thought we could pick her up in the weekend which didn’t work out for the breeder and my hubby had a big meeting he had to be there at his work for… which meant a day of mental health collapse as the puppy blues kicked in. Considering my mental health isn’t always the best but I manage.. this was NOT manageable, I still don’t know how I got through those 7 hours. So my hubby is now making sure he is working home until things settle and I feel better. But it is definitely not the puppy fault, oh no, Coco is the sweetest (and naughtiest) puppy. Really. She listens so well. She loves to play. She is enthusiastic. She loves cuddles (and gets them a lot from people we meet when we do our walks (or when I walk and she is in her bag). She looks adorable. And she knows darn well when she did something naughty. I love her. But it also a lot. Haha, both me and my hubby are dead. RIP us. Wish us luck.
Reading-wise… well the start of the week was fine. But then with all the mental health. The puppy. The stress. The new routine… I just didn’t get to reading. I wasn’t in the mood. From the 23rd of March until… well today.. no books. I tried. But I just couldn’t get into it. I want to try to read something today. A manga. Just a picture book. See if I can get into it.
What did I read last week from my TBR? Foodies (this was fun, a bit too much luxe at times, but still made me hungry), Drakenstorm (mazes, magic, dragons, I loved this one), Barones der Doden (WOW, a great retelling with some sweet F/F romance), Extra Large (pretty and hilarious).
I tried and dropped (and at least tried a chapter or so)? Miljonairskind (meh, too samey as other stories and there was something else that I just cannot put in words), Balenciaga (too tiny text, text was not that interesting), The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (don’t get the hype). I also threw off my list: Friends Like These, Caffe amore, De telefooncel aan de rand van de wereld. I just wasn’t in the mood, and not just because of puppy, mental health, and stress.
Here is a new stack! With books from the previous time, new library books, and some physicals I want to get reading SOON. Hopefully I get out of the slump.
Thank you all for reading and wish me luck with my reading + mental health + puppy! If you want some pictures, I will be posting some on Twitter soon-ish, I just have been so overwhelmed I barely made any pictures. Let me know what looks good on my list + what you are reading next time as I am always curious what my readers are reading~
