Review for Paisley’s Big Birthday

Paisley's Big Birthday Heather Pierce Stigall , Natallia Bushuyeva, Cute, Growing Up, Birthday, Family, Picture Book, Bunny, Balloons, GlitterAn adorable book about a small bunny celebrating her birthday and wondering when she is grown-up!

I know that the English one won’t be out for another 2+ months… but I read this one in Dutch and it has been out here since checks the book she added on Goodreads October 31st 2022. Funny how that works~

In this adorable book we meet a bunny named Paisley (Pien in Dutch, which I just loved as a name). She has a big big birthday and she is eagerly looking forward to being a big bunny! And a birthday means you are older thus bigger! But poor Paisley is finding out that birthdays don’t mean you are instantly grown. I did feel for her though, she was so enthusiastic at the start of the book, when she realised it was her birthday and that means a year older, but then she finds out all sorts of things and the day is just not going as she wants. I just wanted to give her a big big hug. Thankfully, she has both her little brother and her mom who are there for her. I loved how supportive her mum was and how she told Paisley that it will be all right.

I absolutely LOVED the last few pages when Paisley and her little brother play hide and seek together. That just made me smile so much and I was happy for Paisley. Oh no, I am not going to tell you what is happening, but sometimes it is the small things that show you how much you have grown. That is what I will say.

The illustrations were so adorable, so colourful, so fun, I love love the style.

All in all, a sweet book perfect for little kids who are having their birthdays soon. I would recommend it.
