Review for Zombie 100 – Bucket List of the Dead, Vol.10
The last part of the Osaka/canned tins arc and the start of Kyoto + maikos arc + even a pilgrimige! And of course, zombies!
First up is the left-over from the Osaka arc!
I really loved that after they arrive in Kyoto the boys (Takamina, Akira, and Kenchou) split off to find some maiko. Yup, the boys have a dream and it is to see geisha/maiko and spend some time with them. I just love that despite it being a zombie apocalypse they had their hopes high to find at least one maiko.
First up is the end of the Osaka arc! Last we left our group had made a grand scheme along with the people that lived at the castle to do something big. Get Akira back for one, but also topple the whole chain of elite at the top. I absolutely loved this one and I was rooting for our group! I had a laugh though at how things went because yeah, I guess those elite peeps didn’t think that would happen, did they now? I am glad to see Akira finally break out of whatever he was in. We meet the big boss and of course… I loved that our group waited until spring before leaving. You don’t want to be out in the cold after all, so it is a smart move that they stuck around for a bit longer~
Next up, Kyoto is here and the guys are off to find maikos! I really loved this arc, loved seeing Kyoto for a bit and learn more about maiko. I loved seeing the boys let go for a bit and just have fun. I loved seeing Takemina especially bond with a maiko. Of course, it is an apocalypse so dumb things happen and zombies are there. I was really shaking my head that they didn’t make sure that was good/safe.
I had such a laugh at when the boys got back and they got scolded by Shizuka. Yep, they didn’t tell them they were going. Their brains so wired on finding cute ladies that they forgot about the number 1 rule in zombie apocalypse. Don’t split up. Oh, and #2, if you do split up at least tell your team. Haha.
And I loved that the group decided to let Bea’s dream come true! A pilgrimage! Because that is something she really wanted to do. And yes, that means she wants to do the real thing. 1300 km walking. It was some planning, including on what to do when a zombie apocalypse gets in the way. Because it is nice you have to ring a bell, but those zombies will hear it. And I loved that Lambda at least had one solution to a problem, he would just drive to each end point every day and make sure they had food and a place to stay. I had a laugh how much Akira was into it and even got his buddy into it (though he wasn’t too happy to see his beautiful hair go, haha). I really enjoyed seeing where they went and wish I could have gone with them. Well, maybe without the threat of zombies.
I am not sure how I feel about the next volume though, I mean, those last few pages… not my cup of tea. We already had some rotten apples along the way. Not really in the mood for a whole arc with these new evil guys.
But all in all, I had a lot of fun reading this volume! This series is so much fun to read, I love seeing the group expand and them trying their best to have fun in a world-end situation. I love that they are trying to find a cure along the way and I hope that they find one~ I am curious what is next on the bucket list!
