Library Haul ~ 20-1-2024 (Library #3)
Afternoon!!

A very happy welcome to a new Library #3 haul. Yep. No #2 Library haul.
Apparently Library #2 changed their subscription with the start of the year and apparently despite still having 4 months of my yearly subscription left the new one apparently just counts (which no isn’t legal). Which meant I was just utterly confused when I was borrowing at Library #4 on Friday and got a message I could only borrow 25 and was over the limit. I called Library #2 but the woman I got couldn’t really help me. This week has been a rollercoaster, LORD. So I decided to go to Library #2 (and thus also #3) on Saturday instead of next week. That way I could just bring back all my books and just cancel my subscription (yes, boom, bye). Because 60 was a perfect amount of books to be able to borrow, but with 25 it just didn’t work out if I also wanted to borrow at my town’s library (thanks to gastlenen) + occasionally another library (again yay for gastlenen). The only other solution would be that I would have to add a third subscription which would be Library #4 so I could use that + go gastlenen at Library #5, but given how expensive library subscriptions are here… that is just not going to happen. So, long story short, bye bye Library #2. Learn to communicate. So what is next for me? Well, I will be getting a subscription at what is now Library #4 so I can keep borrowing books from them (because I would love to do that as they have a good collection + are nearby my home) + also keep visiting Library #5. I will post the occasional book haul from Library #4, um #2 now, if I find enough books~
Now that long story is out in the world, on to Library #3!! I was definitely excited to grab some new books from there especially since we visited the main branch again~ I had quite a bit of luck there, haha, on the entrance floor which had the new releases I found 7 new books! And then I had fun walking around the library and picked up even more books. I am so happy with the books I found, I got some great fun non-fiction books + a couple of graphic novels. I cannot WAIT to read these books, so excited. It was definitely a highlight of today’s eh events of having to say bye to Library #2~
STATS: 12 books! 8 non-fiction, 2 graphic novels, 2 fiction.

Nice haul Mehsi! Sorry about your library troubles. Do you have to pay for using certain libraries because you don’t live in the area they service? I only have one library but they are in a group of five others. So if my library doesn’t have a book I can put a hold on it at one of the other libraries if they have it and then its delivered to my library.
Have a wonderful week of reading!💜💜.
Thank you! And no, we don’t have free libraries here. How to explain it, you can have a city/area/province and in that city/province/area you need to pay for a subscription to one library and then you can borrow in any libraries that are branched on it (sometimes just 2 libraries, sometimes way more). However, they are trying to introduce gastlenen (guest loaning)/landelijk lenen (country-wide loaning) which allows you to go to other libraries outside of that area/city for free. However, the gastlenen subscriptions often suck. For instance I got a paid subscription at library #1 because the subscription they give people who do gastlenen is like 4 books max at a time. Hope that makes sense, haha. And yes, you can also get books from other libraries but that generally can cost anywhere from 1 euro to 5 euro and I have also seen higher prices.
Thank you! 😍😍
