I received this book from Netgalley/the publisher in exchange of an honest review.

I quite liked My Summer of You and My Ultramarine Sky, so of course I had to request this one when I spotted it on Netgalley! I knew that it would be good shounen-ai, one with all the consent and cute moments.

In this one we meet a guy named Eitou (Eitou.. eightou, yes, the poor guy, his real name is different but this is what stuck). He is really tired of all the puns he gets through his life and I couldn’t blame him. I mean, it is fun the first time, but getting it through all of your life? Eh, not so much. But what happens when he meets another guy plagued by the number eight? A boy named Hatta also named Hachi. Yep. There we go! I had a bit of a laugh how there were two guys who had the same nickname. What are the odds (then again, we also have a manga with two girls named Nana). I really loved how this started a conversation and I LOVED it even more when things got more and more for them. I really started shipping them and I just loved seeing them get closer and closer. See them find out that while their names/nicknames are what connected them in the first place that there is much more for them to connect. I just loved it! Loved seeing their conversations. Loved their reactions when they saw the other. So cute!

Oh, and plus points to the extra chapter at the end! Plus, the 4koma bits after that! Always love those.

I wasn’t such a fan of the drama after the middle-ish of the book, it just was a bit much. I mean, come on, there is probably a reason why and just ask him normally instead of going by what a friend told you. Yes, he normally tells people right of the bat, but can’t you just think that maybe there is a reason for why he did this? Geez. Dramalamas. Already glad at least they weren’t dating then because otherwise we may have had the dreading third-act-breakup which I had with a passion.

The art was really fun again, I really love the artists style and how she draws characters.

All in all, despite the dramalama just after the middle I did enjoy the book a lot and I found myself rooting for these characters!
